A Confession

I’m watching Dancing on Ice.  Right now.  Whilst writing.  And I like it.  For some reason I find myself interested in the contestants this year.  Kerry Katona, Vanilla Ice and Comedy Dave (Chris Moyles Show).  There are other contestants of course, but who cares about them.  I think Kerry Katona deserves a break and I’m hoping she’ll do well.

I haven’t got loads to write about today I’m afraid.  Today’s supplement could be very short indeed!  Some random musings:

I’m still deeply in love with my iPhone.  I use it all the time for loads of different things.  It’s so much more than a phone isn’t it?  When I first got it I weighed up the options and debated on whether to get an Android phone but I decided to stay loyal to Apple as I already have a Macbook Pro and I love that/this.

I’ve taken a week of annual leave this coming week.  No work for me!  I say that, but I still always end up doing some work at some point during holidays.  A lot of change going on at my work a the moment.  Some people don’t like change but I’m learning to live with it and try and embrace it as much as possible.  I’m looking forward to 2011 from a work perspective and I think it will be a good year.

My 4 year old son is so clever.  Well, my wife and I think so anyway.  He can easily count to 40 and can say his alphabet.  He seems to take everything in he hears.  Little sponge.

Running is going well I think.  I’m no where near as fast as I was last year or the year before but I’ll get there in time.  Technically I’m still laying down the base fitness and I am happy with the progress to date.  Ideally I’d like to complete the Reading Half Marathon in under 2 hours 10 minutes to make up for my poor performance last year.  Even better, I’d like to get close to 2 hours or under like the year before (2009).  I’d like to say I’m not setting any goals but that is impossible if you’ve already completed an event previously.  In the back of your mind you would always be comparing against previous races anyway.

Today’s run was supposed to be easy but I found it very hard.  I tried to keep it slow and easy but I still had to walk a couple of times.  Gutted.  When that happens I used to really take it to heart and it would pull me down but I’m just glad to be covering the distance again.  I understand that my fitness had reduced because of one person; me.  And, I’m the only one who can bring it all back again to what I’m happy with.  It’ll come.

Distance Covered Today:  10.59km

Total for the Month:  60.10km

That all sounds very positive! Well maybe not the bit about
Dancing on Ice (although I watched Strictly, so who am I to
criticise?). I’m being lured into the cult of the iphone at the
moment, due for an upgrade at the end of the month and it’s very,
    very tempting…

Well done on the milage, I like your inspiration of having
a bad run and not letting it bother you – thats inspiration to take
    away for today. Thanks

I ADORE my iPhone! Commenting on this on it now! Use it
more than my netbook. I don’t know what I’d do without it now, but
I really slated them before I got one.

I too love my iphone, My husband jokes I love it more than
him…of course if I said I did I would seem hard hearted and also
I would not want to come across as one of those women who doesn’t
love her husband because i do – deeply, but I do alos very much
    love my iphone…

I love my iPhone too. My kids complain I’m addicted to it.
I’ve even finally worked out how to hold one app to take a photo!!!
    Keep up the good running.

I also love my iPhone, it never leaves my side. It’s great
for this blogging lark being able to check out all of the running
blogs and keep up to date with Twitter etc!
