However, I was made redundant on 16th Jan and started a new job on 16th Feb so things can turn around pretty quickly even when the market's no good so even if the worst does happen, say sod it, find a short project to keep you busy (I built a bike) and then find something bigger and better. I spent the whole of last year with my job officially under threat and had literally a last minute reprieve on the day i was supposed to have my departing interview. The stress on me and my family was overwhelming sometimes.
